Simon Richards in the Sew Eurodrive FalconSimon Richards heads to the sixth and final round of the BNTV8s Championship placed stronger than ever before when entering the season's finale.

Currently in 13th place in the championship, a two day test session at Taupo prior to this weekend's racing has the Hamilton driver feeling encouraged about the car and has him looking to achieve some good results and points for his championship standing before the season wraps up for another year.

"We are much better off than we were this time last year and so much more competitive, we hope to get some good points and move up some places in the championship this weekend."

Welcome to the new site everyone! This one has been a long time in the making, but am very pleased to now have it launched.

The reason for the delay has been a good one though, Granger Design has been busy! If you have looked at the Portfolio page you will have seen that I recently completed some presentation shots of the brand new FPR - Orrcon Steel Racing FG Falcon that is piloted by Mark Winterbottom (Currently sitting in 2nd in the Australian V8 Supercar Series).

Also I have been working on an exciting collaboration with Todd Zani and TJ Motorsport(http://www.toddzani.com/) on the return of the Holden Dealer Team to the track. Todd and his team are in the process of building two new Retro HDT styled VE Commodores for the upcoming Targa Tasmania. When the new cars are launched anyone with a sense of nostalgia will love the look of the paint and superb body work on the cars.

Will be sure to post some images as soon as the cars are launched, they hit the road at Targa Tasmania in late April. In the mean time take a look around the new website and let me know what you think. On the Contact page you can drop me a message with the new contact form, easy!

Be sure to check out the smart new Wallpapers, adorn your desktop with your favourite 2010 V8 Supercar driver/car, more will be added in the coming weeks.

Kieran.

Simon Richards made up ground at the weekend when the BNTV8s Championship competed at the Manfeild Autocourse inSimon Richards at Mainfield Feilding.

Aiming for a top ten finish this season he was knocked out of the elite group last month at Timaru after sitting inside it since the opening round at Pukekohe.

The competition has been at it's fiercest this season but never the less Richards has improved his standing at the weekend by moving up into 13th in the championship from 15th and is just 57 points away from regaining 10th place.

"I would have liked to have gone a little better in the first two races but was knocked about at the wrong place wrong time. The last race was a good one and we've moved up a couple of places before Taupo." said Richards.

Qualifying session two was hindered by a light rain which prevented some drivers from improving on their times including Richards.

"I wasn't very happy with qualifying I made a mistake and got caught up behind another car on a good run." he said.

Although unable to compete in the final race of the weekend at Manfeild Autocourse in Feilding, Cambridge driver Nick Nick at ManfieldRoss was pleased with his results from the meeting and more importantly the overall speed of the Concept Motorsport Total Lubricants Commodore on the Manawatu circuit.

In race two on Sunday afternoon Ross was able to make his way through the field to well inside the top 10 sitting comfortably in seventh before an oil leak set him back a few places.

He was able to hold on and keep up the pace to cross the finish line in 10th place improving on his earlier good result where in race one he finished 11th moving up from a 13th place start.

Target Achieved Richards Remains in Top 10 PDF Print E-mail

A fairly quiet race weekend at Powerbuilt International Raceway Ruapuna for Simon Richards was welcomed by him as the series takes a breather before restarting in the new year mid January.

"It's really great, we go on our break over Christmas while inside the top 10 so there's nothing wrong with that - then when we come back we start off at Teretonga which is one of my favourite tracks." said Richards.

Although his race finishes were not alongside the top runners like in the opening round at Pukekohe earlier in the month, his stable results at Ruapuna kept the Hamilton driver exactly where he had hoped to be after the meeting.

Although at the weekend Richards slipped from ninth to 10th in the standings he had commented prior to the meeting that it would be 'awesome' if he was to come away from Ruapuna still inside the top 10.
